How Did the U.S. Stock Market React During the Last 6 Presidential Elections?

I don’t know that we can draw any conclusions from these charts, but I thought it would be interesting to do the research since election day is just a couple weeks away.

These charts are for the SPY ETF (S&P 500) from August 1 to December 31 of each election year from 1996 to 2016.
