Stated objectives of the 5 top ranked Consumer Staples sector ETFs:
PSCC – The Invesco S&P SmallCap Consumer Staples ETF (Fund) is based on the S&P SmallCap 600® Capped Consumer Staples Index (Index). The Fund will normally invest at least 90% of its total assets in the securities of small-capitalization US consumer staples companies that comprise the Index. The Index is designed to measure the overall performance of common stocks of US consumer staples companies. These companies are principally engaged in the business of providing consumer goods and services that have non-cyclical characteristics, including tobacco, textiles, food and beverage, and nondiscretionary retail. The Index is a subset of the S&P SmallCap 600® Index, which is a float-adjusted, market-capitalization-weighted index reflecting the US small-cap market. The Fund and the Index are rebalanced and reconstituted quarterly.
IYK – The iShares U.S. Consumer Staples ETF seeks to track the investment results of an index composed of U.S. equities in the consumer staples sector. Exposure to U.S. companies that produce a wide range consumer goods, including food, and household goods. Targeted access to domestic consumer staples stocks. Use to express a sector view.
VDC – Vanguard Consumer Staples ETF. Seeks to track the performance of a benchmark index that measures the investment return of stocks in the consumer staples sector. Passively managed, using a full-replication strategy when possible and a sampling strategy if regulatory constraints dictate. Includes stocks of companies that provide direct-to-consumer products that, based on consumer spending habits, are considered nondiscretionary.
FSTA – Seeks to provide investment returns that correspond, before fees and expenses, generally to the performance of the MSCI USA IMI Consumer Staples Index. Investing at least 80% of assets in securities included in the fund’s underlying index. The fund’s underlying index is the MSCI USA IMI Consumer Staples Index, which represents the performance of the consumer staples sector in the U.S. equity market. Using a representative sampling indexing strategy to manage the fund. “Representative sampling” is an indexing strategy that involves investing in a representative sample of securities that collectively has an investment profile similar to the index. The securities selected are expected to have, in the aggregate, investment characteristics (based on factors such as market capitalization and industry weightings), fundamental characteristics (such as return variability and yield) and liquidity measures similar to those of the index. The fund may or may not hold all of the securities in the MSCI USA IMI Consumer Staples Index.
RSPS – The Invesco S&P 500® Equal Weight Consumer Staples ETF (Fund) is based on the S&P 500® Equal Weight Consumer Staples Index (Index). The Fund will invest at least 90% of its total assets in common stocks that comprise the Index. The Index equally weights stocks in the consumer staples sector of the S&P 500® Index. The Fund and the Index are rebalanced quarterly.
