Trimmed Some Fat Off Our Utilities Equities Today (RYU) 11-14-17

Utilities seem to be holding up quite well even with the threat of interest rate hikes. We sold a few shares of the Guggenheim S&P 500® Equal Weight Utilities ETF (RYU : $RYU). I don’t foresee any problems in the Utilities sector at this time; we’re just trimming some fat off this position. Price paid $74.89. Price sold $90.63. I wrote about Utilities ETFs in this article: How To Select the Best in Class ETF

Sold Some Of Our Biotech Equity Holdings Today (FBT)

We sold some of our Biotech holdings today. I don’t currently see any problems in this is industry or this particular ETF at this time. We only sold to use the funds in another endeavor. Price paid $89.36, price sold $117.12. The First Trust NYSE Arca Biotechnology Index Fund (FBT : $FBT) is still a great fund and I still recommend it to other investors. I wrote about FBT back in January 2017 and updated the charts in the article in May 2017 right here: Discovering Value in Growth Stock Funds: Biotech ETFs

Trimmed Some Fat Off Our Mexico Holdings Today (EWW)

We trimmed some fat off our Mexico holdings today. I don’t foresee any problems with the iShares MSCI Mexico Capped ETF (EWW : $EWW). I still believe this is a good country to invest in, but we became very overweight in EWW during the 2016 sell-off. So now, we are just taking some profits off the table. Price paid $52.18. Price sold $56.40. Here’s an article I wrote about EWW back in December 2016: Making the Case for Investing in Mexico EWW
