Accumulated More Small Cap Value Equities Today (RWJ) 12-17-18

  1. Just curious to know the reasons as why you are not investing in FXZ and XLY, as there are down more than 15%, but still there in your ETF list.

  2. I do have some investments in FXZ and XLY in our M1 Finance account. But that is a balanced portfolio. I don’t run a balanced portfolio in my other accounts. I usually buy ETFs that I can most significantly lower my cost basis. Yesterday that was RJW. I generally start new positions in ETFs when I can’t significantly reduce my cost basis in currently held positions. I will start positions in XLY & FXZ in the future, but I have no idea when. I will be building this portfolio over the next 10 years. I’m not in hurry to own anything, but eventually I’ll own them all. Thank you Vijay for the question.
